Thanksgiving Menu Revisited (added 11/27/09):
Turkey, stuffing potatoes, rolls, jello, appetizers, all went as planned. But the interesting thing about Thanksgiving with the Gallaghers, is that the menu tends to grow (especially in the dessert department!). The brocolli salad showed up as brocolli casserole, we had a bean salad show up, and the dessert choices included: pumpkin cheesecake and 5Berry Pie as planned, chocolate bread pudding, Philadelphia-style butter cake, and pumpkin pie.
Kiley had so much fun with all of her cousins yesterday that she has found Kullen and I downright boring today. Poor kid. We may have to get that dog sooner than I initially thought we might...

FIVE THINGS I'M GRATEFUL FOR:
1) That families are forever and that I have been sealed to mine for time and eternity.
2) A particular 3-year-old who makes me smile and tear with joy daily.
3) A husband who has much energy when I do not, who takes care of me (&Kiley), and takes his role as a father and provider so seriously.
4) Family & Friends - for the family I was blessed to be born in to; for the crazy and fun family I married in to; and for friends who have become FAMILY.
5) The many comforts I enjoy: my home, my car, my bed, my freedom, my safety... I am BLESSED.

Interviewing a 3 Year Old

I got this idea from a friend of mine, but switched up the questions some.  I love the idea of formally interviewing your child every now and then.
What do you want to be when you grow up?  Miley Cyrus.
If you could live anywhere, where would you like to live?  On a houseboat.
What's your favorite cartoon?  Princess.
Who is your favorite princess?  Ariel.  And Snow White!  She makes a pie for Dopey and he eats it all!
What's your favorite thing to do at school?  Paint!  'Cause I'm good at painting.  And to color.
What does your daddy do for work?  Fixes people's teeth.  And Miss Marjorie ( a hygenist) fixes my teeth so I can get a new toothbrush and new toothpaste!
What does your mommy do for work?  Work on her computer!
What do you want for Christmas this year?  My own floss and my own gum and my own bathrobe.  I also like to measure myself (she says this as she looks at our scale.  She says "measure herself" when she weighs herself).
Could you go a day without watching TV?  Maybe.
What do people do who don't have TVs?  I don't know.
What's the funniest thing about your dad?  He can flip a pancake and makes a mickey mouse pancake.
Who's the President of the United States?  O'Mack O'Bama
What's your favorite sport?  Soccer.
What's your favorite thing to do together as a family?  Have birthday parties!

Kiley was a princess. I was a doctor (do you like my old glasses I dug out!) They're "suh-weet"!  It was a very mild evening for trick-or-treating.  Not too cold.  I think Kiley was the first kid in the neighborhood to head out.  Why do 3-year olds decide they no longer need naps?  It makes the tail end of the day soooooo difficult sometimes!  So out she went shortly after 6pm.  Back by 6:45 with lots of goodies in tow.  Two crabby-patties (gummy candy), pajamas, brushed teeth, and some milk later, she was in bed before 7:30.  Not bad!
